Team at 9,800
According to the RMI website, the team moved up to 9,800 feet on Saturday. The plan is to move to 11,000 feet today.
First ascended by a party led by Hudson Stuck on June 7, 1913. Mt. Mckinley is the highest peak in North America at 20,320 feet. It is characterized by extremely cold weather with temperatures dipping as low as minus 70 F and winds as high as 100 mph. There is also unusually severe risk of altitude illness due to not only its high elevation but also its high latitude. The climbing season runs from mid-April until mid-July.
